Sylvia Ilahuka

Based physically in Kampala and mentally in Dar es Salaam, Sylvia serves as Communications Officer. She conveys the work of the SFF network both internally and externally through the written word.

Widely published in creative nonfiction, Sylvia speaks six languages and has consulted for nonprofits in Tanzania, Uganda, and Finland. She also has a long background in healthcare that includes English/Swahili interpreting and helping run a young women’s breast cancer program in Boston. Sylvia is a graduate of Wellesley College and was admitted to medical school at Tufts University before opting for alternative pastures.
