Dr. Tharcisse Nshimirimana graduated from the Medical School at the University of Burundi. He has over fifteen years of community health work experience in rural, poor, and underserved communities in Burundi and the East African community. He is the founder and CEO of The Village Microclinic and previously served as the longtime coordinator of Service Yezu Mwiza. He is Segal Family Foundation’s 2017 Grassroots Champion Award winner and a 2019 Cordes Fellow. He is currently a medical practitioner working and living in Burundi.
