Project Description

Solomon Makuza is the executive director of Gardens for Health International, a for-impact non-profit that works at the intersection of health and agriculture to provide community-based, participatory solutions to malnutrition in Rwanda. Gardens for Health partners with health clinics in rural and peri-urban areas so that families facing malnutrition have the knowledge, resources, and support to meet their nutritional needs and, moreover, to thrive.

Prior to joining Gardens for Health, he led impactful programs at Partners in Health and AVSI International. He has extensive experience in community development programs, managing for sustainable development impact, research, leadership, and non-profit management.

Solomon holds a BSc in environmental health Sciences and a Masters in Public Health. He is also an East Africa Acumen fellow, an African Visionary Fellow, an Aspen Health Scholar, a Skoll World Forum Fellow, and a member of the Room.
