The Rona Foundation champions and advances the rights of women, mostly widows who continue to suffer exclusion and marginalization by both formal and informal systems and structures.

Why We Love Them: Rona Foundation is an organization led by a woman with lived experience of being a widow. Roseline Orwa’s experience as a widow has given her an in-depth understanding of the challenges of widowhood in Kenya and in her community. Rona’s model is holistic and looks at supporting widow and their families and advocates for the inclusion of widows’ rights in the legal framework of the country.
