Patrick Gwaza

Patrick is a Program Officer based in Lilongwe, Malawi. He supports Segal’s Southern Africa partners through Active Partnership and conducts due diligence on potential and current partners.

He joins Segal with experience as a program technical professional, having worked with international organizations; mainly in health programming with a strong focus on grant management, due diligence, stakeholder coordination, safeguarding, and technical support for local NGOs, as well as community-based organizations. He has excelled in designing and implementing impactful interventions, building partnerships, and driving locally-led development initiatives that have made lasting impact in marginalized communities.

Patrick’s career is distinguished by a passion for designing sustainable community-driven interventions, empowering grassroots organizations, and strengthening collaborations with diverse stakeholders.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and development studies from the University of Malawi and an MSc in public health and behaviour change from Brunel London University, United Kingdom.
