Executive Officer
Mary Fenton
Mary joined the foundation in 2019. She is part of the Executive team’s dynamic duo—tasked with clearing the path for teammates to move fast and pursue their bold mission. She believes in leading with empathy and built her role around reinforcing the clarity, care, and culture core to Segal’s identity. Ask her to nerd out about ethical HR, retention strategies, or disability inclusion.
Mary became committed to locally-driven social change during her work as a research fellow with the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood. She is an artist at heart and arrived at Segal via a long, winding path which includes a brief stint constructing a pyramid in the desert. She holds a BA in Studio Art from Vassar College and an MA in International Development from American University School of International Service. Her greatest professional achievement to date is making this website’s 404 page an actual seagull.
