Tontho Uganja

Tontho Uganja is the founder of Sustainable Farming Solutions, a Malawian farmer-first organisation advancing agroforestry and restoration as a pathway to better livelihoods for smallholder communities. She leads a land restoration mission that works across degraded landscapes, combining practical delivery with strong monitoring, transparent benefit sharing, and a focus on women’s participation and leadership. Tontho is also co-developing Smart-Tree, a digital monitoring and traceability platform that supports credible reporting and fairer systems for farmers to benefit from nature-based finance. She is a Mulago Henry Arnhold Fellow and a Schlumberger Faculty for the Future PhD Fellow. When she is not in the field or spending time with her son, she is usually reading.
