Nafisa Jiddawi
The visionary behind the WAJAMAMA Wellness Center and the WAJAMAMA Foundation, Nafisa Jiddawi, founded Zanzibar’s first holistic healthcare center and led the establishment of the archipelago’s inaugural high-fidelity medical simulation center. Along with her team, she pioneered an evidence-based group care model in Zanzibar and is committed to making this life-saving approach the standard of care for women and children in sub-Saharan Africa. Nafisa is a triple board-certified family and women’s health nurse practitioner and a certified nurse-midwife. She is an alumna of Georgetown University, the George Washington University, and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
