Kazi Mghendi
Kazi Mghendi is the founder and team lead of Elimu Fanaka – meaning “education for prosperity” in Swahili. Driven by her passion for leadership development and community collaboration, Kazi established Elimu Fanaka in 2019 as a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing access to quality education for learners in public primary schools across rural Kenya. Grounded in her personal experiences and proximity to rural communities, Kazi’s dedication to serving marginalized areas fuels her commitment to education as a catalyst for transformation. She envisions schools as hubs for positive change, striving to elevate educational standards and cultivate sustainable communities. Kazi’s own academic pursuits include a bachelor’s degree in international development from Daystar University and a Master’s in International Relations from United States International University-Africa, underscoring her commitment to merging theoretical knowledge with practical action to drive meaningful change in education and beyond.
