James Gondwe

James Gondwe is the founder and executive director of Ulalo, a Malawian NGO dedicated to improving education, youth empowerment, health, and community development. He has over a decade of experience in non-profit leadership, program design, and project management, with a career spanning the Government of Malawi’s Community Development Department and several international NGOs working on community development, human rights, communication, and advocacy.

James is an alumnus of the African Visionary Fellowship, the Royal Commonwealth Queen’s Young Leaders Associate Fellowship, and the African Community Networks Summit Fellowship, as well as a One Young World Ambassador.

Beyond his leadership role, James is an avid writer on non-profits and social impact, sharing insights on his blog. He chairs the board of the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia Early Childhood Development Department and serves on the boards of other community development initiatives. James lives in Mzuzu with his wife Chifundo and their three children. He enjoys connecting with people, traveling, and farming.
