
Evodius Gervas Kikarugaha
Gervas is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Hakizetu Organization, a Tanzanian NGO working to prevent gender-based violence and to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights for adolescents and youth. An activist, he is also the founder of an economic empowerment program for vulnerable girls and young women to learn marketable skills and access microfinancing to establish small enterprises.
In 2021, the East Africa Philanthropy Network awarded Gervas for his efforts to economically empower women and girls in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy, is currently a Master of Gender Studies candidate, and serves on the boards of other national and international organizations.
Gervas has dedicated his life to amplifying the voices of youth and women locally and internationally – breaking biases, creating opportunities, and encouraging them to maximize their potential. In his free time he enjoys solving puzzles.
