David Ogiga
David Ogiga is the co-founder and director of Sote Hub. Under his leadership, Sote Hub has nurtured a pipeline of future blue economy, climate, and agriculture leaders by supporting over 1,000 enterprises across Kenya and Tanzania. Driven by a deep love for nature and ocean conservation, David’s work increasingly focuses on sustainable solutions in the marine space. He holds a bachelor’s degree in natural resources management from Moi University, Kenya, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in marine sciences as he seeks to strengthen the bridge between science, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
David was the founding chair of the Association of Countrywide Innovation Hubs in Kenya, bringing together grassroots innovation spaces nationwide, and a former board member for AfriLabs representing the Eastern Africa region. He is also a co-initiator and current board member of the African Federation of Business Angel Networks, where he works to unlock more local capital for Africa’s early-stage startups.
