Cathreen Chirwa

Cathreen is the executive director of There Is Hope, a Malawian NGO that works with refugees and Malawians in Dzaleka. Cathreen is a strong advocate of mindset change. What she likes most about working with refugees is the realization that even though they lack resources, they have skills and talents which, when tapped, can realize their potential for a dignified and improved livelihood. For the Malawian community, she enjoys their ability to participate and share their ideas, visions, and responsibilities in implementing community development. She particularly likes the intercultural coexistence between the refugees and the host community that exists within the premises of There Is Hope.
